The Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) is a nationally and internationally networked research centre at the interface of biological and technical systems. The ATB develops and integrates new technologies and management strategies for a knowledge-based, site-specific production of biomass and its use for food, as bio-based products and energy sources - from basic research to application. One focus is on solutions for sensor-supported local resource management in precision arable farming and horticulture. At the Marquardt site, the ATB has a modern equipped experimental station, which offers extensive possibilities for the development and testing of remote sensing sensors and methods on more than 20 ha. The ATB employs about 220 people.
